THIS PLACE, above, which focusses on life in Derbyshire villages like Bolehill.(PRESS START). Kate lives and works in Bolehill as a photographer and is known for her gritty images of farming life with publications like "On The Edge" a powerful photo-documentary of contemporary hill farmers. This project has been supported by the East Midlands Museums, Libraries and Archives Council and the Derbyshire Community Foundation. 'This place' is a project to record Derbyshire's rural communities and what gives them their heart. As well as Kate Bellis's own work recording the lives of people in our area a series of community workshops have been run by Kate in communities across Derbyshire, giving local people the chance to tell their own visual story through photographs.
